 “It was really important when casting this character to play the girl in the bookstore and her friend that you saw two people that could potentially be Carrie’s friends in Paris. That you say, yes she would want to go out with them. Wait a minute, they’re fun. The girl especially had to be somebody who seemed like the same fabric. That she was stylish enough, and smart enough, and fun enough to perhaps start to fill up some of the holes that Carrie was feeling. Perhaps now everything would work out...”
